Here is my Weebly: http://bignategoesforbrokebookproject.weebly.com/.
ReplyDeleteMy son and I created it together as practice for how he might be able to use it in school. It was fun to do!!!
Wow! Great job:)

ReplyDeleteI think this might be an excellent option for students to develop digital portfolios of their work - maybe a tab for each subject area or something like that.
It was not difficult to set up - a little limited in terms of templates, but if students are beginners, then this is a good way to start. Google Sites would work too, in much the same way. Students would need some ideas about the web design concepts of contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity (C.R.A.P.)in order to produce a product that would be impressive on a college app.

Was this tool easy or difficult to use?
It was an easy tool to use. I would like to play around with it a lot more to experience all the features but I can see how it would benefit the students and is much easier to use than glogster.
What would be some benefits of having students create their own websites?
They can work on these things at their own pace. They can also submit their work to the teacher and don’t have to have it displayed if they don’t want to. I can also grade them easier. Instead of hauling a bunch of posters home, I can grade them online.
What skills would students need to have in order to use this tool?
Students would need to have basic computing skills and an understanding about basic website design. They don’t need to know any HTML code but rather just how to upload pictures, work with text boxes, download things from internet, etc.
My website is http://cdotechnews.weebly.com
ReplyDeleteVery, very easy tool to use. I really didn't even watch the tutorial.
Students could even write term papers as a webpage and create links to their sources. They could use it as a presentation tool.
Students would need basic computer skills in order to use this tool. It's very self explanatory.
I like it:)

ReplyDeleteWas this tool easy or difficult to use? It was VERY easy to use. Very user friendly.
What would be some benefits of having students create their own websites? With the new common core standards, students are expected to have mathemtical literacy. We need to get students to start reading mathematics, rather than have them just parrot what we do. They need to be able to decipher the explanations. Making them research topics online and build their own "books" via a website, may be a great way to do this.
What skills would students need to have in order to use this tool?
Not many skills other than patience and basic computer knowledge.
How could you see using this for student projects? As stated above.
