There will be no formal classes or workshops offered to support this program. Instead, staff are encouraged to work together and share with each other their discoveries, techniques and "how to's" both in person and through their blogs. I am available to assist you anytime online or in person from 3:30-5:00 pm on most Tuesdays and Thursdays in the CDO Library. If you feel any of the tasks are easy, please offer your help to others. If you are lost, please ask for help. Partnering up with someone is a great way to work through this. Don't be afraid! You can do this and this will have a positive impact on your teaching by giving you a bunch of new ideas and things to try.
You are free to move through the dozen tools at your own pace. I am introducing one per week. You will also receive professional development hours. The requirements to get hours are listed below:
- Staff who participate will either have to copy and paste their blog entries for each lesson into a word document or write a reflection of how each lesson’s content will impact what they do in the classroom. These writings will be submitted at the end of the activity.
- Staff who participate will need to keep a log of their actual online time. This will be submitted at the end of the activity.
- Reflections and logs will be submitted along with the completed re-certification form to show the times. When everything is in order, Monica Nelson will sign the form and send it back to you.
All those who finish the entire Dorado Dozen by May 5, 2012, will be given an additional reward that is yet to be determined.
Hours Tracking Log-Save this as a copy into your Google Docs if you have that, or export it an Excel document and save to your computer, or print it out and write your hours down.

Blogs are a terrific collaboration tool, so I suppose students might have some interest in doing that for projects and presentations. Don't know if it has an application to Gold Program, yet, I will wait and see. MJ

I felt like a dork doing this, but I'm glad it wasn't too hard to figure out how to do.
